General Outline
Sport is evolving and increasingly today's performers are athletes, faster and more powerful than athletes of a previous generation. Developing athleticism has become paramount and this is where strength and conditioning come in. To address this need for athleticism, strength and conditioning have been one of the fastest-growing areas in sports science over the past decade. Effective practice in strength and conditioning is built around practical knowledge and the development of delivery frameworks around which to build quality training sessions and training programs. Yet much of the education in strength and conditioning is technical in nature, focusing on theory and fails to address the practical nature of this field. This workshop aims to address this issue by focusing on enabling attendees to develop proven practical frameworks around which to deliver strength and conditioning interventions, along with the practical skills to be able to deliver simple and effective training sessions and programs that address a range of performance variables.
This course provides a practical introduction to the field of strength and conditioning, enabling attendees to develop a framework around which independently design and deliver simple, safe and effective strength and conditioning sessions to a range of clients. The main focus is on developing the practical knowledge required to deliver sessions that address the force, movement and metabolic requirements of performance, along with the capacity to build these into effective training sessions and programs. It is an ideal introduction for anyone wishing to start their journey into strength and conditioning, providing a baseline of understanding and practice upon which to build further study and accreditation activities.
This program aims to provide attendees with:
