Appropriate youth development presents the foundation of sports performance in the later stages. In the period of growth, motor abilities, skills, and performance can be significantly affected by intra-limb asymmetry. How the minimizing of asymmetry would impact further development, what are the strategies to decrease intra-limb asymmetry, and whether it is always recommended to work on asymmetry reduction are some of the questions that will be answered during the lecture. In addition, findings from an unpublished study that we recently conducted on youth basketball players will be presented.
